Common Interactive Objects

In CIO, common interactive objects are developed and explored to extend human control over the technological environment by human beings, both individually and together. CIO leads to a coherent framework of user interfaces to be applied in interaction design.

Participatory Information Technology center

PIT has strong roots in the Scandinavian tradition for Participatory Design, which combines the areas of technology development and use with a broader interest in participative practices at the workplace.

PhD projects

Exploring Possible Futures with Computational Media

Marcel Borowski's PhD project aims to explore computational media and contributes by defining properties and values of it, exploring potentials and limits of it, and identifying domains and use cases where computational media thrives.

Exploring Common Interactive Objects and Their Intelligibility

Mirzel Avdic is researching how we can make voice assistants in smart speakers more visible in the space they inhabit within smart homes, and to which extent we can actuate smart speakers’ activities to make them intelligible to people.
