1,627 applications to our bachelor programmes
The deadline for applying to Danish higher education programmes has just passed – and we’re thrilled to see a tremendous interest in studying IT at Aarhus University!

Across our four bachelor’s programmes – Datalogi and IT-Produktudvikling (taught in Danish), Computer Science and IT Product Development (taught in English) – we’ve received 1,628* applications in total, including 598* first-priority applications from talented and motivated students across Denmark and around the world.
We’re truly excited by this interest and wish we could offer a place to everyone who applied!
First-priority applications to the Faculty of Natural Sciences increased by 64% this year – largely driven by the three new international IT programmes (Computer Science, IT Product Development, and Data Science offered by the Department of Mathematics), which together account for 40% of the faculty’s first-priority applications.
However, due to the national sectoral dimensioning, there are only a limited number of study places available. As a result, we will unfortunately have to turn down many highly qualified international applicants – students who would otherwise have been a valuable asset to the Danish labour market.
We can’t wait to welcome our next generation of students when the semester starts in August. You can all look forward to five years of exciting and challenging studies in a supportive learning environment. Our students are in high demand and often land inspiring student jobs and careers in startups, scaleups, and global tech companies.
A huge thank you to everyone who applied – and congratulations on taking the first step toward a future full of opportunities!
