Last week, a large delegation from the department and Department of Digital Design and Information Studies took part in the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, the worldโ€™s leading venue for Humanโ€“Computer Interaction, held in Barcelona.

And our 45 participants truly made their mark onthe conference:

  • 1 Honourable Mention (top 5%)
  • 2 researchers โ€“ Niklas Elmqvist & Kaj Grรธnbรฆk โ€“ inducted into the ๐‘บ๐‘ฐ๐‘ฎ๐‘ช๐‘ฏ๐‘ฐ ๐‘จ๐’„๐’‚๐’…๐’†๐’Ž๐’š, highlighting the lasting impact of AU-research on the global HCI community

Across the program, AU researchers contributed to cutting-edge topics ranging from responsible and ethical AI design to climate resilience and sustainability. Their work also explored data literacy and education, blended realities and sociocultural interaction, and design practices grounded in real-world experience. Together, these contributions - spanning full papers, workshops, posters, and meet-ups - highlight both the breadth and depth of Humanโ€“Computer Interaction research at Aarhus University.
