𝐀𝐚𝐫𝐡𝐮𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐇𝐈 2026
Last week, a large delegation from the department and Department of Digital Design and Information Studies took part in the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, the world’s leading venue for Human–Computer Interaction, held in Barcelona.
And our 45 participants truly made their mark onthe conference:
- 21 accepted papers
- 2 Best Paper Awards (top 1%)
- 1 Honourable Mention (top 5%)
- 2 researchers – Niklas Elmqvist & Kaj Grønbæk – inducted into the 𝑺𝑰𝑮𝑪𝑯𝑰 𝑨𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒚, highlighting the lasting impact of AU-research on the global HCI community
- 7 posters
- 7 workshops
- 2 meet-ups
- 4 session chairs
Across the program, AU researchers contributed to cutting-edge topics ranging from responsible and ethical AI design to climate resilience and sustainability. Their work also explored data literacy and education, blended realities and sociocultural interaction, and design practices grounded in real-world experience. Together, these contributions - spanning full papers, workshops, posters, and meet-ups - highlight both the breadth and depth of Human–Computer Interaction research at Aarhus University.
