The Aarhus 2025 Conference

This week, marks the 6th edition of the Aarhus Conference - a once-in-a-decade event that has shaped the field of participatory design and critical computing since 1975.

Over the coming days, 270 researchers and practitioners from around the world will gather in Aarhus to explore how digital technologies can support democracy, participation, and sustainable futures.

The programme includes keynotes, panels, and workshops on topics such as:

  • New directions in participatory design

  • Democratic innovation and civic technologies

  • AI, ethics, and design futures

  • Reflections on 50 years of research and practice in Aarhus
