The master degree programme for working professionals is designed for IT professionals who are employed in a relevant field for at least 25 hours per week while pursuing their studies part-time. Thus, you complete the same amount of course credits, but you have four years instead of two. This part-time programme is ideal for individuals who have already completed a bachelor’s degree and want to continue their education while working. It can also be a great fit for those who do not qualify for the Danish student grant (SU).
The part-time master in computer science gives you the same academic title and competencies as a two-year full-time master degree – but you have four years to complete the programme. The purpose is to combine studies with work, thus allowing you to maintain employment alongside your education.
You must complete 120 ECTS credits during the programme (similar to the two-year full-time programme), but the ECTS credits can be spread over four years. A list of the master courses offered by the department can be found here. You can also take courses from other departments. Your final study plan will be tailored to your interests.
Pursuing a part-time master as a working professional gives you an unique opportunity to bridge theory and practice. You will be able to connect what you learn during classes directly with relevant tasks and projects at your job. Thus, you can contribute with the newest academic knowledge at work, and you get practical experience when using that knowledge at work.
The programme is open to both Danish and international applicants. Some begin right after completing their bachelor, while others have worked for a few years.
