When Eve Hoggan joined the department in 2016, she planned to continue her research on multimodal interaction. She wanted to understand how people experience technology through touch, sound and movement. Ten years later, that work has grown into new research directions, an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2025 and now a promotion to professor.
Arsen Vasilyan joined the department as assistant professor on August 1. His research focuses on developing reliable and trustworthy machine learning algorithms that can perform well even when training data is noisy, corrupted or manipulated.
On 1 August, we welcome four faculty members who will help shape the next chapter of our research and education.
We are delighted to announce the promotion of Eve Hoggan and Clemens Nylandsted Klokmose to Professor, and to welcome Arsen Vasilyan (joining us from the Institute for Foundations of Machine Learning at UT Austin) and Alejandro Aguirre…
