Official center opening

On December 18, Aarhus University will celebrate five new VILLUM Investigators, including Lars Birkedal. At the celebration, the five VILLUM Investigators will give a short talk about their research, which is followed by a reception for friends, family and colleagues.

According to a new survey, the city of Aarhus is the best student city in Denmark. Aarhus scored high across several key parameters: Career Opportunities, Education Institution Quality and City Reputation. All of them are categories that prospective students value the most.

Young women are crazy about IT and technology

For the 14th time, the Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University opened its doors to IT Camp for girls. This year there has been a huge interest for exchanging the autumn holiday with IT Camp, and with 55 participants from all over the country, the organisers can report a record-high number of participants.

STIBO grant to Svend Christian Svendsen

How big data can help combat the effects of climate change

In a pilot project, SCALGO and the Danish Meteorological Institute have launched a new national flood risk forecasting tool. The algorithm in the tool is based on research from Lars Arge's group at the department.

Associate Professor Kasper Green Larsen receives Sapere Aude grant to boost his research

Congratulations to Kasper Green Larsen, who is among the 35 outstanding Sapere Aude research leaders, whom the Independent Research Fund Denmark has pointed out as being among the most capable young researchers.
