Graduation posters 2026

Every year, students from the department create original graduation posters for the graduating class. Over time, the posters have become a small tradition - capturing the shared experiences, humour and memories that make each graduating class unique.
At the graduation ceremony, all our Computer Science and IT Product Development master's graduates receive one of these posters as a keepsake from their time at the Department of Computer Science.

The posters are created by fellow students, making them a gift from one generation of students to the next. This year's designs were created by:

  • Amalie Duschek, Computer Science bachelor's student (4th semester)
  • Mads Sommer, Pernille Lund and Lea Nielsen, IT Product Development bachelor's students (6th semester)

Filled with familiar courses, student traditions and hidden references, both posters invite graduates to take one last walk through five memorable years at the department.

Artist statement:
Originally, I wanted to create a ✨clean, aesthetic, and pretty✨ poster.

Then I realized, how those three words do not represent how studying Computer Science actually is. I therefore went with a bit more realistic approach: It’s messy, yet still somewhat balanced. To me, this felt much more relatable and representative of the inside of the mind of a CS-student🤯

The stars of the show are the three characters in front, which I’m positive any CS-student from AU would recognize. They all became part of our lives very early in the studies, and I hope their presence feels comforting or even a bit nostalgic.

In the background, I hid some code from the HotStone Project… Faded just enough that it’s easy to overlook, but it’s there to remind you how far you’ve come during the past 5 years! 🙌

—You might also spot a bit of AI-vandalism on the wall… A small protest against AI — made by someone who definitely did not ask a chatbot to help her phrase this very paragraph! Practice what you preach, they said.—

So anyway, I also added little pieces of the degree scattered around like doodles from notes taken while half-listening during a loooong lecture… Perhaps you remember ‘Union Find’ from ADS, or learning about Logic Gates in ComArch (I even left a little message for you to decrypt) 🙈

And of course, no poster of these years would be complete without some beers from DatBar and a few ‘løbesedler’ from TÅGEKAMMERET. As your EFUIT this past year, I've handed out my fair share of those myself - so leaving in a few felt just right🥳

Lastly, I had to leave my signature in the corner🫆 I just couldn't risk anyone questioning its authenticity - and now I can't deny making it either. ‘Non-repudiation’ at its finest! (sorry.. I’m still recovering from my DisSys exam ten days ago🤓)

I hope it makes you smile, and maybe even miss this place a little?🥹🤌🏼

Congratulations to all of you! - you've earned every bit of the beautiful mess! 🥳🧑‍🎓🕺🤩👏🎉

We hope our poster reminds graduates of everything that made their time in IT Product Development unforgettable.

From ambitious projects and late nights spent debugging, to friendships, laughter, and all the small moments that made the journey worthwhile.

IT Product Development is about much more than learning how to design and build technology. It is about curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and the friendships that grow when you spend years solving problems together.

As we move on to new opportunities, we hope this poster reminds everyone where it all began. It is a celebration of the people they met, the challenges they overcame, and the memories they created together. Those experiences have shaped them not only as developers, but also as friends.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. We wish you all the very best for whatever comes next!

Want to revisit previous graduation posters?

Every design since the tradition began is available on our graduation poster page.

Graduates who were unable to attend the ceremony are welcome to contact Christina Gøttsche (csg@cs.au.dk) to arrange collection of their poster.

A heartfelt thank you to this year's student designers for sharing their creativity and talent, and congratulations once again to the Class of 2026!
