Abstract
Mobile and wearable technology is usually perceived as personal devices. However, the technology is used in different co-located social situations and yields a variety of social experience. In this talk, I will broadly identify types of social experience and describe the roles of mobile and wearable technologies in enabling and supporting social experience. I will also discuss limitations in designing for the social experience and future research directions in designing the technology for positive social experiences.
