About the seminar
The focus of this event is on digitalization research, its challenges and its implications for society. Discussion will address the issues raised by conducting digitalization research in a complex regulatory, political and public environment. Both the technical and societal dimensions of digitalization research will be explored, including issues of public trust. Panel debates and presentations will consider the constraints on research development but also the ways in which scientific research provokes positive and negative societal responses. The regulatory and political environment for digitalization research will be discussed. What is the level of public trust in digitalization research? Does the political and regulatory environment hold back digitalization research? What can digitalization researchers learn from public debate? How should researchers address technical and societal challenges? The seminar will be held in English and is organized by the Academy’s Digitalization Committee.
