Jyske Bank and Bankdata collaborate with Aarhus University, The Alexandra Institute and Copenhagen Fintech and we invite students as well as Fintech startups to join the AI Fintech Hackathon 2022.
In the hackathon you will work in teams focusing on one of three challenges. In close dialogue with experts and employees from Jyske Bank and Bankdata, you will develop exciting new solutions and innovative ideas for how to use data and artificial intelligence in digital customer relationships in the future. We welcome both more technical and more concept-based solutions.
A main challenge for financial institutions is to provide clients with financial insight without requiring financial knowledge. To support this purpose, in the banking sector we use massive amounts of data, experience and financial products specifically designed to meet customer needs and abilities. We provide customers with insights and opportunities to support them in realizing their dreams without being financial experts.
Banks are becoming increasingly digital and are using both data and artificial intelligence to create exciting new services and opportunities for customers. In the last years, we have seen a boom in the Danish fintech industry, and many new solutions are being developed in cooperation between fintech companies, banks and companies providing financial services.

What is in it for me?
The AI FinTech Hackathon 2022 gives you the opportunity to work with real-world challenges the financial sector is facing, and therefore a chance to develop solutions, that potentially will be integrated in Jyske Bank and Bankdata afterwards. Furthermore, the AI FinTech Hackathon offers inspiration, expert knowledge, networking with the two companies, full catering and of course the opportunity to win a further collaboration with Jyske Bank, Bankdata and the startup experts from Copenhagen Fintech Lab.
The hackathon is for students and Fintech startups who want to deep dive into solving real-world challenges in dialogue with banks and experts and gain more knowledge about the banking sector and artificial intelligence. The different design of the challenges means that there is a need for various competencies within computer science, user understanding and behavior change, finance and stock trading, design and concept development, business development, sustainability, etc.
How to sign up?
You can register as an individual, two people together or in a team of four. Individuals who sign up will be teamed up with other students.
All participants will we divided into groups of four. When registering, you can prioritize which of the three challenges you are most interested in working on. By clicking on each challenge, you can read more about them.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
The solutions will be evaluated based on how strong they are within the following criteria:
SOLUTION: Ability to solve the problem
NOVELTY: Innovation height
VIABILITY: Is the needed knowledge, skills and technology available?
FEASIBILITY: Does the solution contribute enough value compared to the investment?
METHOD: How is the solution developed?
We are interested in solutions, which we have not thought of ourselves, so surprise us! We are also interested in learning why you propose exactly that solution. Show us how you think, and which choices you made along the way.
We are keen on both solutions demonstrating capacity for data crunching as well as more conceptual solutions. But be specific and pay attention to how the solution can be realized.
