Hiring a student programmer

When hiring a student programmer the procedure is as follows:

1. Announce the job

The announcement should indicate the number of working hours per week. 10 hours is a good number, since this is not too much in relation to study engagement, but at the same time enough hours, so that they will not need to find a second job.

You should ask applicants to bring a transcript of their records, so that you can check their grades to see if they are qualified.

List of wage rates can be found here

You can announce the job as below:

  • At a course related to the working area, plus announce it on the course website.
  • Send a job advertisement text for the web to Jan Frederiksen. Send it as ordinary text (not pdf) and if you have further information e.g. more information on the research project, you can enclose a pdf. If you have a picture or a logo you can send this also, otherwise Signe will use the CS-logo

2. When you have chosen a qualified student programmer you should send an email to the Jan Frederiksen with the following information:

  • Information on the student (name, address, email, cpr. nr. and maybe phone number)
  • Number of hours per week
  • Priod of employment
  • Name of the project that should pay the salary
  • The title of the job
  • Name of accountant (if you know it)

3. Then Jan and the HR-department will handle the rest.
