Today, cryptography is the basis for all security on the internet. The technology ensures that only the correct recipient can see what you send and that you know who you are talking to. However, for some years now, we have known that if one could build a sufficiently large quantum computer, it could break most of the cryptography used today. Although it will take many years before we reach that situation, it should be taken seriously. Fortunately, we have new cryptography methods that a quantum computer cannot break, so-called post-quantum cryptography.

In this lecture, Professor Ivan Damgård will explain to us what a quantum computer actually is and why it can break some forms of cryptography. Finally, we will examine an example of post-quantum cryptography.

Everyone is welcome to participate.

It is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes before events, as otherwise, we will free up reserved seats.
