Abstract
omplex digital technologies are increasingly shaping our everyday lives and societies. How can Human Computer Interaction researchers contribute to empowering people living in complex digitized societies? 
This talk looks back and ahead through presenting a personal trajectory of research interests and contributions, in terms of transitions in the field of HCI. This includes shifting from Designing Digital Technologies for Users in the Workplace to Designing for User Experiences in the Home and Designing Playful and Collaborative Interactive Spaces, to Designing for Empowering People in an era of AI.
