People, innovation, design and programming

The Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University focuses on a wide range of interest fields within computer science, and offers education for students with technical approaches, as well as approaches within design, user interfaces, business, etc.

We have around 700 students distributed between our two Bachelor’s degree programs and two Master’s degree programs. Besides that, the department has a very successful PhD degree program in computer science and a continuing education program.

Study Computer Science

Computer science is about solving complex problems and developing future software and IT systems. The Department offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees in computer science.

PhD in Computer Science

All PhD students at the Department of Computer Science, Aarhus University, are affiliated with the Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST). We accept both Danish and international students with a Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science - most often we can provide full funding. You can apply for admission four times a year; February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1. Please see the separate information for prospective PhD students and for currently enrolled PhD students.


Study IT Product Development

The IT Product Development programme at the Department of Computer Science, Aarhus University, places particular emphasis on giving the student competencies within computer science, combined with knowledge of product design and business understanding.
