EDUCATION AT COMPUTER SCIENCE

People, innovation, design and programming

The Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University is a highly-recognised international department with research-focus on a wide range of fields within computer science. Our international research staff offer education for students with highly technical interest, as well as a programme which dives deeper into aspects such as design, user interfaces, and business etc.

  • Computer Science is about solving complex problems and developing future software and IT systems.
  • IT Product Development combines elements of computer science with product design and business understanding to create new digital products.

Around 800 students are enrolled at our bachelor and master programmes, and we are the largest department at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. Our bachelor programmes are offered in Danish and English, while the Master programmes are taught in English. When applying for our bachelor programmes it is not a prerequisite that you know how to programme, as we will teach you this fundamental subject from scratch, and offer extra hours in our programming cafe for those interested.

As a student your education is top-prioty, but a good social life is also important - especially at those times with the studies become a bit tough (and, that will happen to all). Therefore, the study environment is highly prioritsed at the department.
