CTIC welcomes new cryptographers: Tore Frederiksen, Pratyay Mukherjee and Claudio Orlandi

Two PhD students and one postdoc joined CTIC this semester to work on cryptography.

From left to right: Pratyay Mukherjee, Tore Frederiksen and Claudio Orlandi.
  • Tore Frederiksen took both his bachelor and master's degree at Aarhus Universality. He is now starting a 3 year PhD program under the supervision of Jesper Buus Nielsen, working on practical aspects of secure multi party computation. In his spare time he is a volunteer roller derby referee for Aarhus Derby Danes under the alias Turing Pest.

  • Pratyay Mukherjee has started his 3 year PhD program in August 2012. Before coming here, Pratyay was employed at Indian Statistical Institute as a researcher for 1 year. He obtained his master's degree in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur in 2011 and Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Tele-communication Engineering from Jadavpur University in 2008. Pratyay's research interest lies mainly within theoretical aspects of Cryptography. He is a crazy football lover and great fan of Lionel Messi, FC Barcelona and Argentina Football Team.
  • Claudio Orlandi is a postdoc at CTIC, thanks to a grant from the Danish Council for Independent Research. When Claudio first came to Aarhus in 2007 as an Erasmus student student, he fell in love with the Danish weather and rødgrød med fløde. He therefore decided to stay and got his PhD in 2011 under the supervision of Ivan Damgård and Jesper Buus Nielsen. He is now back in Aarhus after a postdoc in Yehuda Lindell's research group at Bar-Ilan University, Israel.
