HOME PUBLICATIONS PROJECTS TEACHING ORGANIZER

Erik Grönvall holds a Post-doc position at Aarhus University, Computer Science department, HCI-group, Center for Pervasive Healthcare.

In Aarhus, he is a Project Manager for a multi-disciplinary research team that works with user-driven innovations in healthcare. The aim is to (e.g. through participatory design) support elderly people to live longer in their own homes. Other projects of interest relates to the development of technology for people that usually do not represent target groups of novel technology, for example elderly and people with different disabilities.

Current research interests can be found in the borderline where the technology and the users meet and include issues like Pervasive Healthcare, Method development for user driven innovation, end-user control in ubiquitous systems, construction/deconstruction and inspection strategies in ubiquitous computing and how to develop technologies that can be used by diverse and heterogeneous user groups.

He has a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Florence, Italy (2007). Previously, Erik has also been a post-doc and lecturer (e.g. in Java, Web development/WEB 2.0 and Physical computing) at the University of Siena. Before moving to Denmark and Italy, he worked in Sweden (as a consultant, as employee and within his own company) with mainly smart home development and novel solutions for elderly care.
