
The danish regular team 'Eriks Team' is explaining their solution to Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, Owner of the LEGO Group and Morten Aagaard, President of the LEGO Foundation.
The Department of Computer Science organized the Danish participation in the World Robot Olympiad 2011 (WRO). The competition was held Nov. 18-20 i Abu Dhabi (UAE) under the headline 'Robots for Life Improvement'. More than 1500 participants from 35 countries, competed in two categories 'Regular' and 'Open', and the participating teams from Denmark was up against some heavy competition primarily from countries from the far east. "Danish Minesweepers" achieved a 5th place in the Open category for their 'flying mine detector' solution.

World Robot Olympiad is an annual Robotics competition based on the LEGO NXT Mindstorms platform. The event aims to bring young people together from all over the world. It is a combination of science, technology and education and allows young people the opportunity to develop their creative and problem solving skills in two different competition categories.
The Danish qualification competition is organized by Department of Computer Science,Aarhus University and DI ITEK and was held Oct. 29 at the Department of Computer Science, Aarhus University.
The event is sponsored by DI ITEK/'Karl Pedersen og hustrus industrifond' and the Danish ministry of education (UVM).
