Cloud computing has become very popular in recent years, but many are worried about security. In this talk I will start by explaining why cloud computing is so popular from a business perspective, and how the properties behind this popularity leads directly to some serious security concerns.

Following this, I will discuss the seemingly simple solution of encrypting your data before handing them over to your cloud provider, and why this might not be a simple problem after all.

Finally I will discuss how to apply modern advanced cryptography (e.g. Multiparty Computation) to address this problem.
