In February 2012 the Department of Computer Science formulated the Strategic Goals and Action Plan 2012-2016 .
The plan describes the department’s strategic goals for research, talent development, interaction with society and education. It also outlines the initiatives and projects needed to reach the goals.
This plan consists of six sections. Section 2 provides a brief introduction and a SWOT analysis identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the department. Section 3 contains a description of the department‘s organisation, research groups and staff. Section 4 describes the benchmarking with three other Computer Science departments and with the rest of the faculty. Section 5 describes the department’s strategic goals for the next five years and relates these to the benchmarking results. Section 6 contains the initiatives and projects to be taken to reach the strategic goals. This includes a recruitment plan for the next five years. Finally, Appendix A describes the status and prospects for the research groups at the department, while Appendix B contains a set of criteria developed to evaluate candidates for permanent associate professorships
