PhD student Martin Simonsen has been awarded the NRW Young Scientist Award 2009. The award prize of 1500 euro will be presented by the German science minister on 20. November 2009.

Martin receives the award on the basis of an article written and published during his master programme: Rapid neighbour-joining. M. Simonsen, T. Mailund, C.N.S. Pedersen. In Proceedings of the 8th Workshop in Algorithms in Bioinformatics (WABI 2008), volume 5251 of Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Springer Verlag, October 2008.

The International NRW Graduate Schools in Germany award prizes of € 1,500 to seven young scientists for the most outstanding publication in:
