CAESAR, Control & Communication

Control and communication facilities for CPN simulations

Partners:

CPN Group at DAIMI
Systems Architecture Laboratory, George Mason University, Fairfax VA, USA

Duration: Duration: February 1999 - September 2000

The aim of this project was to enhance the Design/CPN tool with the following facilities:

  • High-level interface to the simulation control module. This allows a user to select sets of simulations with different initial conditions, input files and stop criteria and to specify which simulation results to retain for follow-on analysis.
  • External access to the simulation control interface. This provides the software interface to allow an external process to control a simulation.
  • Provide an interface through which an external process can communicate/interact with a running simulation.
  • Specify and implement an interface that allows the functionality above to be used from a Web browser.

Systems Architecture Laboratory, George Mason University

The System Architectures Laboratory, as part of the Center of Excellence in C3I of George Mason University, in Fairfax, VA, conducts basic and applied research in the modelling, analysis, design and evaluation of architectures for information systems and distributed decision making organisations. In both cases, the emphasis is on Command and Control applications.
