Many of our students are interested in innovation and in starting up new companies. One of our goals at Department of Computer Science is to support the entrepreneurial activities of our students and recent graduates in collaboration with related activities at the University or in the IT-City Katrinebjerg. Therefore, we have recently created an experimental innovation lab and incubator environment entitled Hatchit Lab.
All of the business start-ups below are founded or co-founded by former students who either have a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a Master’s degree in IT Product Development at Department of Computer Science.
Three former students in IT Product Development - Tobias Alrøe, Jesper Rasmussen and Rune Haugaard - are the creative minds behind the startup Appdictive. The company, that started as a hobby in 2013, are now developing android apps to a large number of customers in the manufacturing, healthcare and entertainment sectors. Ceptu aims to build easy-to-use services for the agricultural industry. Founded in 2014 by a group of computer scientists, the startup combines state-of-the-art satellite technologies with the ubiquity of smartphone, tablet and web applications. Ceptus team (comprising of both former and current students from Department of Computer Science) works intensely to bridge the gap between research and the practical application of farming technology.
The company's app FieldSense helps farmers throughout Europe for the coming cultivation seasons, as descirbed in this business case (november 2016). In 2016, Fieldsense were mentioned as a business case in the Danish Space Strategy launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. With a mixture of skills and experience in computer science, information technology, product development, strategic management and communication, Ceptu are committed to continuously improving their services and products.

MONTEM is a product development agency specialised in Internet of Things and smart consumer products. MONTEM design and develop products with and for the end-user in mind, based on current trends within research.
The people at MONTEM (Anders Høedholt and Christian Østergaard Laursen) have a strong interdisciplinary background in Computer Science and Product Design from Aarhus University and Aarhus School of Architecture.

BioRemind is a digital refreshing to an analogue industry: By providing a platform for psychologists and therapists who wish to provide their treatment strategies digitally to their clients. The psychologist can fast and easy subscribe a customized app with their own content so the strategy is right at hand when the help and support is really needed.

The company builds on a solid research background within patient care and technology-supported treatment of anxiety. Peter Bering, a Master in Computer Science from Department of Computer Science, is among the partners of Cope It.
The companys product "PI Dental" is a IT-based patient communication platform that increases patient treatment acceptance and attracts more new patients.

Creative Vikings is a software company that helps clients with innovation and digitization. We are passionate developers, who use modern hybrid technologies to offer tailored solutions on all major platforms, including web, iOS and Android.
Corro offers a solution for organizing marketing activities, creating social media content and publishing it with the flexibility kanban boards provide. The three people behind Corro (Mikkel Dahl Bertelsen, Jens Erik Krogsgaard and Anders Gade) share a background in IT-product development at Department of Computer Science.
Corro was founded in 2015 on the basis of a study project on how companies can organize marketing activities. Their tool for project managment and social media publishing gathered 200 pre-launch signups in august 2015.
Greenticket is an easy CO2-neutral event and ticket sales platform founded by four former students at Aarhus University. Among the founders of Greenticket are Emil Hagbarth and Jonas Bøgh, graduates from IT Product Development at Department of Computer Science.
In 2013 the four student entrepreneurs participated with a business idea in “The Startup Experience” at Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Aarhus University - an idea which later would become the easy-to-use startup ticket service Greenticket. The free service is targeted event organizers who has to setup events, conferences, etc.
The Greenticket team has developed an app, which transforms the event organizers smartphone into a scanner. The feature makes it possible for the guests to bring their tickets on a smartphone. Greenticket is free to use for the organizer to use, instead guests are charged a small fee.
Kare Media develops and provides digital marketing solutions for mobile platforms. Based on Apple's Passbook, the company have developed the platform Cardable that makes it easy and efficient to design and distribute digital loyalty cards, tickets, information cards and coupons. In addition, they design and develop custom solutions for companies that need integration with existing systems.
